KAR is centrally located in Los Angeles County’s San Fernando Valley. All of your repossessed vehicles are stored in our high-security, fenced compound and monitored 24/7 by state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, lighting and alarm systems.

OUR FAMILY LEADERSHIP
JOSEPH SCHARLIN, PRESIDENT, With a background in collections, Joe founded Key Auto Recovery in 1964. He was a pioneer in the industry then, and one of the country’s original repossession adjustors. In the years that followed, Joe became known for his skip-tracing skills in locating people and lender’s collateral. He was on the ground floor during the building of many current repossession associations. Joe and Key Auto Recovery have continually been at the forefront in assisting the growth and direction of the repossession industry.
MATTHEW SCHARLIN, VICE PRESIDENT, Vice-President
Matt joined Key Auto Recovery in 1985. He was a quick study under his
father’s direction, but Matt soon added his own style and insight to
skip-tracing and employee management. Armed with this extensive
experience, Matt directs initiatives that ensure efficiency and
financial strength. Matt attends and actively participates in all of
the national repossession tradeshows and stays current on all the latest
technologies and advances within the repossession industry.
Leslie Scharlin-Medina, Marketing Director,
Leslie is a California licensed repossessor & Qualified Manager
for Key Auto Recovery. She has been with KAR since 1989. Leslie has
traveled the United States while speaking to numerous lending
institutions and repossessors about automotive locksmithing. She has
also taught automotive locksmithing at her own school in California and
at private schools for the U.S. Government. Leslie regularly attends
national repossession tradeshows and speaks to clients on behalf of
National Finance Adjusters. She has been a contributing writer for many trade
